In an extraordinary meeting on April 11, the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) approved the multi-year round of bidding rounds for exploration blocks, concession and sharing, and mature land fields scheduled to take place between 2017 and 2019.

For this year, in addition to the previously approved rounds (4th Round of Marginal Accumulations, 2nd Round of Sharing with unitized areas of the pre-salt and Round 14 of Bids for Blocks for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production), it was approved the realization of the 3rd Round of Bids under the production sharing regime, with four areas located in the Campos and Santos basins in the region of the pre-salt polygon, related to the prospects of Pau Brasil, Peroba, Alto de Cabo Frio -Oeste and Alto de Cabo Frio-Central.

For 2018 and 2019, the following rounds were approved:

· 4th Round of Sharing, scheduled for May 2018. The prospects for Saturn, Três Marias and Uirapuru in the Santos Basin and the exploratory blocks C-M-537, C-M-655, C-M-657 and C-M-709, located in the Campos Basin, should be evaluated.

. 5th Round of Sharing, scheduled for the second half of 2019. The prospects of Aram, Lula's Southeast, South and West Jupiter and Boomerang, all in the Santos Basin, should be evaluated.

· 15th Round of Bids for Blocks for the Exploration and Production of Oil and Natural Gas, in the concession modality, scheduled for May 2018. Blocks from the sea basins of Foz do Amazonas (SFZA-AP1, AP2, AR1 and AR2 sectors), From Ceará (SCE-AP2 and AP3 sectors) and Potiguar (SPOT-AP1, AP2 and AR2 sectors), from ultra-deep waters outside the pre-salt area of the Campos basins (sector SC-AP4) and Santos SS-AUP1), and from the Parana basins (SPAR-N and CN) and Parnaíba (SPN-SE and N sectors), as well as blocks from the Sergipe-Alagoas, Recôncavo, Potiguar and Espírito Santo basins , should be selected.

. 16th Round of Block Tenders, in the concession modality, scheduled for the second half of 2019. Blocks from the Camamu-Almada basins (SCAL-AP1 and AP2 sectors) and Jacuípe (SJA-AP sector) and water (Sector SS-A5) and of the Solimões basins (sector SSOL-C) and Parecis (sectors SPRC-L and O) , Besides blocks of terrestrial sectors of the Basins of Sergipe-Alagoas, Recôncavo, Potiguar and Espírito Santo;

. 5th Round of Bids for mature terrestrial fields still to be defined, scheduled for May 2018;

. 6th Round of Bids of mature terrestrial fields still to be defined, scheduled for the second half of 2019.

All areas of the rounds will still need to be approved by the President of the Republic and published in CNPE resolution.
