With the signing of the adhesion term, the company affirms its commitment to meet the six commitments set forth in the movement by 2030
T&B Petroleum/Petrobras AgencyThe president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, signed this Thursday (09/03), the term of adhesion to the Mente em Foco Movement of the UN Global Compact in Brazil. The initiative invites Brazilian companies and organizations to act for the benefit of their employees and society in the fight against stigma and social prejudice around mental health. Rodrigo Favetta, CFO of the UN Global Compact in Brazil, also participated in the signing event, which took place during CERAWeek, in Houston (USA).
The objective is to contribute to the creation of healthy work environments, stimulating discussion on the agenda. “Petrobras is a company that is attentive to the challenges faced by society and knows that the issue of mental health is one of those challenges. We want to work on this theme in a preventive and humanized way and this movement of the Global Compact will certainly help us a lot to improve our internal actions”, declared the president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates.
The Mente em Foco Movement seeks to treat mental health as a perennial theme that forms part of the companies' business strategy. The ambition is to reach 2030 with 1,000 companies with structured mental health programs, impacting 10 million workers with these initiatives.
Petrobras will undergo a periodic self-assessment to verify the degree of commitment in relation to the six commitments established by the Movement. They are: having a reference professional for advice and assistance; offer guidance and crisis management; guarantee the permanent evaluation of employees; keep managers engaged and trained in relation to the topic; create an anti-stigma program and promote actions to encourage mental health, with campaigns and initiatives, based on identified demands.
Mental health is a relevant issue for Petrobras, expressed in the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. The company's Mental Health Program has a dedicated team of professionals, in addition to assistance in emergency situations. “We have been working a lot on the subject. We developed a mental health training course, which our leaders are going through; we have a psychological support service; we created an Intersectoral Organizational Wellbeing Committee, which aims to propose wellness actions for our employees; we implemented internal programs of lectures, lives and health circuits among our teams. In short, there are many actions and we will still have many more ahead of us”, highlighted the executive manager of Safety, Environment and Health at Petrobras, Joelson Falcão Mendes.
