The Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina defended the interests of the sugar-energy sector during the official visit of President Jair Bolsonaro's delegation to the United States earlier this week. The Minister, who was well acquainted with the challenges of the sector, played a prominent role in the visit to the White House, when the party met with President Donald Trump, even ripping twice "I like you" the president of the United States.

At the meeting at the White House, Tereza Cristina was keen to say that if Americans want to sell ethanol in Brazil, they must, in turn, open their market to Brazilian sugar, one of the main lawsuits in the industry today.

"I am a defender (of the Paris Agreement) because Brazil is one of the countries that can comply, we have a program of decarbonization, the RenovaBio, of the sugar and alcohol sector very interesting," said the Minister in an interview with Globo commentator Guga Chacra.
