Representatives from Neptune Marine Services are at the Offshore Technology Conference from May 1 to 4 2017.

Since attending the elite industry event in May 2016 as a first time exhibitor with Scottish Development International, Neptune has established an office in the region, operating under the name Neptune Subsea Inc.

This strategic expansion is driven by Dr Lev Roberts-Haritonov, General Manager of Neptune’s Subsea Engineering service line, who is working closely with some of the industry’s key business development experts and existing clients, to support this growth and maximize the Company’s opportunities within the region.

Dr Lev Roberts-Haritonov said “Neptune identified the Gulf of Mexico as a key area of opportunity prior to exhibiting at OTC in May 2016. It was our attendance at OTC that allowed Neptune to engage directly with the market and better understand its dynamics. Meeting with key operators and clients, has provided us a fundamental understanding of the requirements and aided Neptune in aligning its strategic expansion. Whilst Neptune is in its infancy year within Houston, we have received positive feedback from operators and tier-1 contractors indicating that Neptune’s technical expertise and offerings in the development and deployment of advanced, yet efficient, specialised engineering solutions to subsea integrity challenges, have the potential to fill a gap in the region’s marketplace. We are delighted to be returning to OTC 2017 as part of the Scotland Pavilion and look forward to engaging with the market further”.

The expansion has been supported by Scottish Development International, the Scottish Government’s international arm. Funding was awarded to Neptune Subsea Engineering in spring 2016 for Company Growth Business Support for expansion into the Gulf of Mexico.

Houston-based Scottish Development International energy sector manager, Shannon Norstrud, said: “There has never been a more important time for companies to look at overseas markets to help sustain and grow Scotland’s oil and gas sector. Neptune Marine Services has shown how this can be achieved with the right support and I wish it every success as it continues to fulfil its long term growth ambition.”
