Zampronha joins Vestas from his role as president of Schneider Electric Brazil, an energy management and distribution company. He had been at the company since May 2010, becoming president in January 2013.

Troyano had been interim general manager at Vestas Brazil. He left the firm on June 30 to "pursue other opportunities", the manufacturer said. Zampronha will take up the new role on 2 September 2015, at Vestas Brazil's headquarters in Sao Paulo.

Vestas said Zampronha will be charged with implementing Vestas' strategic roadmap in Brazil. This includes the opening of a new production facility in Ceara, northeast Brazil, by the end of the year. The new facility will produce turbine hubs and nacelles.

In June 2014, Vestas announced plans to invest €32 million to meet Brazil's local content laws.

The manufacturer has been awarded 12 contracts in Brazil in 2015, totalling 286MW, Vestas said.

There has been a number of changes among Vestas management this year. Earlier this month, Vestas appointed Nils de Baar as the new president of central Europe, following the departure of Christoph Vogel for "personal reasons".

In May, group senior vice president for communications and marketing Morten Albaek resigned to become CEO of investment firm Voluntas.
