Growth momentum in the 33 country-OECD area is set to remain stable, while diverging patterns are in store for major emerging economies, results of a survey showed Monday.

The Composite Leading Indicator, which signal turning points in economic activity, was unchanged at 99.8 for the OECD area.

The outlook is for stable growth momentum in the region as a whole, particularly in Germany and Italy, as well as in Canada and Japan, the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development said. The survey showed that growth is firming in France.

Meanwhile, the leading indexes signaled easing growth in the UK and the U.S., though from high levels.

Those for China and Brazil confirmed the tentative signs of stabilization seen in the previous assessment, while slowing momentum for Russia. For India, growth was seen firming.
