The national production of oil and natural gas in November totaled 3,711 MMboe/d (million barrels of oil equivalent per day), of which 2,852 MMbbl/d (million barrels daily) were oil and 137 MMm3/d (million cubic meters) of natural gas. There was an increase of 2.7% in oil production compared to the previous month and 3.5% compared to November 2020. In natural gas there was an increase of 3.7% compared to the previous month and 8 .1% compared to November 2020.

Consolidated information on domestic production for the month is available in the Monthly Oil and Natural Gas Production Bulletin for November 2021, published today (3/1) on the ANP website. They are also available, interactively, on the Oil and Natural Gas Production Dynamic Panels.

Pre-salt

Pre-salt production in November totaled 2,714 MMboe/d, of which 2,141 MMbbl/d were oil and 91 MMm³/d were natural gas. There was an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous month and 12% compared to the same month in 2020. Pre-salt production originated from 131 wells and corresponded to 73.2% of the total produced in Brazil.

Use of natural gas

In November, the use of natural gas was 97.2%. 61.7 MMm³/day were made available to the market. Gas flaring in the month was 3.8 MMm³/d, a reduction of 12.8% compared to the previous month and an increase of 20.8% compared to the same month in 2020.

Origin of production

This November, the offshore fields produced 97.1% of oil and 81.9% of natural gas. The fields operated by Petrobras were responsible for 93.7% of the oil and natural gas produced in Brazil.

Highlights

In November, the Tupi field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas, recording 874 Mbbl/d of oil and 40.9 MMm3/d of natural gas.

The Petrobras 77 platform, producing in the Búzios field through five wells connected to it, was the installation with the highest oil production, with 161,290 Mbbl/d.

The FPSO Cidade de Itaguaí installation, producing in the Tupi field, through 7 wells connected to it, was the installation with the highest production of natural gas, producing 7.383 MMm³/d.

Estreito, in the Potiguar Basin, had the highest number of onshore producing wells: 944.

Tupi, in the Santos Basin, was the offshore field with the highest number of producing wells: 60.

Marginal accumulations fields

These fields produced 439.1 boe/d, with 172.8 bbl/d of oil and 42.3 Mm³/d of natural gas. The Iraí field, operated by Petroborn, was the largest producer, with 250.5 boe/d.

Other information

In November 2021, 271 areas granted, four for transfer of rights and five for sharing, operated by 38 companies, were responsible for national production. Of these, 60 are offshore and 220 are on land, 13 of which are related to contracts for areas containing marginal accumulations. Production took place in 6,166 wells, 475 of which were offshore and 5,691 onshore.

The average API degree of oil extracted in Brazil was 28.2, with 2.3% of the production being considered light oil (>=31°API), 92.1% medium oil (>=22 API and <31 API) and 5 .6% heavy oil (<22 API).

The mature onshore basins (fields/long-term tests in the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Sergipe and Alagoas basins) produced 88.863 Mboe/d, with 69.491 thousand bbl/d of oil and 3.1 MMm³/d of natural gas. Of this total, 60.9 thousand boe/d were produced by Petrobras and 27.9 thousand boe/d were produced by concessions not operated by Petrobras, of which: 15,979 boe/d in Rio Grande do Norte, 10,986 boe/d in Bahia , 534 boe/d in Espírito Santo, 283 boe/d in Alagoas and 183 boe/d in Sergipe.
