The energy load of the National Interconnected System (SIN) verified in September this year showed a reduction of 3.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching an average of 67,918 MW. The data are from the Monthly Load Bulletin of the National Electric System Operator (ONS). In the last 12 months, there was a positive variation of 0.2% in relation to the same previous period.
Among the justifications for the numbers measured, one can mention the lower temperatures and the greater volume of rainfall in the South and Southeast regions. These two factors were recorded throughout the month due to the passage of several cold fronts.
In the last 12 months, there was a positive change in energy load in the South (0.6%) and North (2.7%) regions. The Southeast/Midwest subsystem had a small retraction (0.1%), as did the Northeast (0.5%).
In the monthly assessment of September 2022 compared to the same month last year, there was a positive change in load in the North subsystem, with 6.8% and 6,774 average MW. For the other regions, the data indicate a reduction: Southeast/Midwest, a drop of 5.3% (38,632 average MW), the South with a negative variation of 3.7% (11,274 average MW), and the Northeast region with a reduction of 5.3% (11,238 average MW).
