Pedro Parente highlights improvement of Petrobras' safety and financial indicators in OTC

Petrobras President Pedro Parente presented on Tuesday, 2/5, the talk "Petrobras Opportunities in a New Oil and Gas Scenario", during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston (USA). He highlighted the company's progressive financial recovery after the implementation of the 2017-2021 Strategic and Business Plan. OTC is the world's largest event dedicated to offshore exploration and production. 


"We have come out of extremely high indebtedness, more than five times our cash generation, to 3.5x in 2016. It is still a high debt, so our effort to reach the goal from 2.5 to 2018 according to Our PNG, "said Parente. The executive also presented the reduction of the Recordable Accidents Rate (TAR), which fell from 2.2 in 2015 to 1.6 in 2016. 


In addition to outlining the prospect since joining Petrobras last May, the executive has addressed the company's prospects, which has been adopting a robust partnership program. "We are adopting a new strategy, creating opportunities for both industry operators and suppliers, as well as expanding partnerships with universities and research institutions," said Parente. According to the executive, the agreements allow cutting-edge technological development with lower costs and greater production growth. 


The executive said that Petrobras should present a new portfolio of divestitures soon. Parente reaffirmed the goal of $ 21 billion in divestitures and partnerships in 2017 and 2018. 


"Our initiatives are aimed at increasing the company's efficiency and competitiveness in the global oil and gas market," he said.
