From May 1 to 4, in Houston, Texas, Petrobras will be taking part in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), the world’s largest event dedicated to offshore exploration and production activities. On May 2, the company will give a presentation focused on the technological innovations and pioneering solutions used to develop production in the Libra area, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. At the conference, Petrobras executive manager Fernando Borges, as well as managers Orlando Ribeiro, Osmond Coelho and Francisco Costa, will show how intense technological collaboration between the Libra Consortium’s member companies has generated cost savings and efficiency gains.
On the same day, Petrobras CEO Pedro Parente will give a talk entitled “Petrobras’ opportunities amid new circumstances for oil and gas,” in which he will emphasize the company’s progressive financial recovery since it started to implement its 2017-2021 Strategic Plan and Business and Management Plan. He will talk about improvements to the company’s safety and financial metrics, its program of partnerships, its adoption of a new pricing policy, and the next steps it will take to enhance its efficiency and competitiveness in the global oil and gas market.
At a parallel event to OTC on May 3, Petrobras’ exploration and production director, Solange Guedes, will participate in a panel discussion called “Oil and Gas in Brazil: the Rules of the Game,” organized by the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce (BRATECC). Guedes will explain the importance of Petrobras’ partnerships with operators, service companies and academics to develop new offshore solutions and technologies. She will also stress the opportunities generated by the improvement in Brazil’s business environment.
This monday (May 1st), Petrobras’ executive manager for logistics, maintenance and operational support, Maurício Diniz, will take part in a panel discussion entitled “Offshore Operators in Brazil: a Promising and Positive New Environment.” He will highlight the main strategies in Petrobras’ Business Plan and the challenges involved in decommissioning offshore platforms. Also today, Petrobras manager Felipe Matoso will give a talk on “Cost Reduction in Subsea System Projects.” Matoso will show how the company has been achieving major cost savings when installing subsea systems in the pre-salt layer, thanks to technical initiatives to simplify designs and boost productivity.
