Fuel allow to reduce gas emissions, with gains for air quality and vehicle performance.

In December 2014, Petrobras achieved record with production of 889 thousand cubic meters (m³) of diesel ultra low sulfur content(S-10) at its refineries in Brazil. This record was an increase of 79 000 m³ over the previous record, obtained in November 2014.

The production of Diesel S-10, when started in January 2013, in the volume of 325 thousand cubic meters, represented 8% of the total domestic production of Petrobras diesel. In December 2014, this derivative reached 21% stake in the company's production. The significant increase in production of Diesel S-10 reflects the start-up of new units of diesel hydrotreating in Gabriel Passos Refinery (Regap), in Minas Gerais and in the Alberto Pasqualini Refinery (Refap) in Rio Grande do Sul. Also contributed to this result the integrated management of assets and the use of synergies between the refineries, so as to bring the quality of products and keep pace with the growth of the Brazilian market.

The Diesel S-10 provides the introduction in Brazil of vehicles with modern emission treatment technologies that among the main environmental advantages, reduce by 80% the emissions of particulate matter and up to 98% emissions of nitrogen oxides. In addition, provide other benefits, such as improved cold starting, reducing the occurrence of wear on the engine, and the increase in lubricant change intervals - better performance and longer engine life.
