On Tuesday (May 6), Petrobras, in partnership with the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute (IBP), Sinaval, and ApexBrasil, held a strategic meeting in Houston (USA) between Brazilian suppliers and international investors to foster new partnerships and business opportunities in the naval and offshore sectors — a significant milestone in strengthening the execution strategy of Petrobras’ Business Plan. The event took place alongside the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), one of the world’s leading energy forums.

This was the fourth edition of the “Business Roundtable,” an initiative that has become a key platform for connecting Brazilian companies with major players in the global oil, gas, and energy supply chain. The event brought together around 200 representatives from shipyards, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, and operators interested in exploring the opportunities created by Petrobras’ robust investment plan.

Petrobras’ CEO, Magda Chambriard (pictured), emphasized the importance of the initiative:
“Strengthening the national shipbuilding industry is an essential part of our strategy to ensure operational safety, create qualified jobs, and promote regional development. Brazil has all the conditions to become a competitive hub for offshore engineering and construction.”

Renata Baruzzi, Petrobras’ Director of Engineering, Technology and Innovation, stated:
“The growth of the Brazilian shipbuilding industry is strategic to guarantee the competitiveness of our projects. We are committed to increasing demand predictability, strengthening the local supply chain, and encouraging partnerships with foreign companies — always focusing on excellence, innovation, and socio-environmental responsibility.”

Roberto Ardenghy, President of IBP, added:
“This initiative aims to support the national industry in expanding its competitiveness and business opportunities. It is a chance for Brazilian companies to reaffirm their commitment to quality and excellence in a segmented and growing market, with increasing demand for low-carbon solutions.”

Sérgio Bacci, President of Transpetro, said:
“Strengthening the national naval industry is extremely important for the Petrobras system and for the country. Petrobras and Transpetro are committed to generating steady demand for the national naval and offshore industry through the Petrobras System Fleet Renewal and Expansion Program. We are on the right track to revive this industry.”

The meeting with suppliers was organized by IBP, Sinaval, and ApexBrasil and presented by Petrobras. The event was sponsored by SLB and supported by Abimaq, Abeemar, and Onip. Other associations and companies also participated, including Abemi, Abespetro, ABCE, and Transpetro.
