For PetroReconcavo CEO José Firmo (pictured), oil companies need to stay attentive to the balance between investments and costs versus the return to the company and the maintenance of the company’s solidity. The exact timing of this connection will distinguish the companies that will navigate well a scenario in which prices fluctuate significantly within just a few weeks.

Firmo called for the country to establish a specific regulatory policy for mature fields that values the role of onshore operations in national energy security and in the economic and social development of the communities where it operates. In most cases, these are municipalities that depend exclusively on this industry to move forward.

The PetroReconcavo CEO took part in the opening ceremony of this year’s Bahia Oil & Gas Energy, which runs through Friday, the 29th, in Salvador. During his speech, he said that PetroReconcavo will continue investing.

“Even in the face of uncertainties in the external environment, our position is clear: we continue investing. We continue to believe in the potential of mature fields in Brazilian onshore operations, which still have a lot of oil to deliver, with technology, discipline, and commitment to the surrounding communities,” he stated, adding that onshore operations have experience, consolidated infrastructure, and reserves awaiting operators committed to long-term recovery.

In addition to Firmo, the PetroReconcavo team attending the event includes Vice President of Operations João Vitor Moreira, Communication and ESG Manager Fábio Gois, as well as professionals Artur Aiello (Rig and Services Safety), Yuri Dias (regulation and quality engineer), Lorena Mota (People and Management coordinator), and Rafael Castro do Amaral Neto (Tax Manager).
