Porto Central advances with its environmental license

On November 8, 2017, the Brazilian President issued a Decree giving Porto Central status of essential infrastructure of national interest. The Decree declared the project of public utility for the vegetation suppression in the project area.

 

In addition, on October 18 and November 10, 2017, IBAMA issued the Authorization for Capturing, Collecting and Transporting Biological Material (ABIO) authorizing Porto Central to start the surveys of the terrestrial fauna and benthonic community. Porto Central already submitted the requested studies by IBAMA necessary for the issuance of the installation license of the port.

 

Also, on December 5, 2017, a State Decree of was issued to declare the project of public utility for the vegetation suppression in the areas and activities destined for the implementation and construction of the water supply system of Porto Central. Porto Central already has the right of use of the water resources of the Itabapoana River by the National Water Agency.
