Porto do Açu signed a contract for 25 years with OceanPact yesterday for the implantation of an emergency service hub in the port enterprise, in the North of the State (RJ). A Brazilian company that offers services in the areas of Environment, Subsea Operations, Logistics and Engineering, OceanPact will occupy an area of 29,300 m², with a reserve of another 16,250 m² for expansion.

The long-term installation proves the resumption of the oil and gas industry in the country and also Açu's vocation as an offshore and subsea hub. Due to its privileged location, located in front of the Campos Basin and close to the pre-salt fields, Porto serves as the main base for leading companies in the O&G sector.

The contract also provides for the dredging and construction of a pier in the area leased by Oceanpact. "It is a customer that is in full expansion capacity and that has the largest inventory of response to offshore emergency in Latin America. It will be another company building quays in the most sought-after terminal in Açu, which

will result in an increase in vessel traffic ", says Ricardo De Luca, director of Oil and Gas at Porto do Açu Operations.

"We have been engaged in Environmental Protection activities in Porto do Açu since 2014 and, without a doubt, this is an excellent time to expand our operations at Açu, offering our customers the largest and most complete Environmental Protection Base in Latin America. In addition, we will offer our customers our other services of Environment, Subsea Operations, logistics and engineering ", says Erik Fabian Cunha, Commercial and New Business Director at OceanPact."

For Açu, the arrival of OceanPact renews the opportunity to offer the concept of a one-stop-shop (offering products and services in one place) to the offshore market, as the different companies already installed are able to act synergistically to meet all needs. demands.

Açu is the main structuring project in the State and has great potential for regional development. Today, with OceanPact, 14 companies are installed: Porto do Açu Operations, Açu Petróleo, BP Prumo, B-Port (Edison Chouest Group company), InterMoor, NOV, TechnipFMC, Ferroport, Anglo American, Dome, GNA (Natural Gas) Açu), Açu Station and Aerodrome Norte Fluminense.
