Amid the drop in fuel sales during the emergency situation to face the pandemic of the new coronavirus, Raízen will launch a package of measures to support its network of resellers, the distributor's marketing director, Marcelo Couto told Valor. According to him, the ten initiatives can have a liquidity impact of around R$ 500 million for resellers.

Among other measures in the package, Raízen will make payment conditions flexible for resellers and anticipate the transfer of revenues from digital payments, from 30 days to two days.

"We understand that the worst is yet to come and that there may be default. That is why we are anticipating it," said the executive to Valor.

Asked about the impact of restrictions on circulation on Raízen's business, he preferred not to comment on the matter. Couto stated, however, that the company has been adjusting its gas stations and convenience stores to the demands of the moment, to give more prominence to the sale of hygiene products - a type of item that was not so demanded in stores previously - and industrialized products. The company stopped providing freshly prepared food.

"We have also noticed an increase in payment via applications by the consumer. It was a trend registered in China and it is happening here as well. And we have done all the cleaning of the stations, such as the distribution of alcohol gel during the payment process, for example. "he stated.
