ANP published yesterday (18/11), on its website, the "Technical Report nº 05 / SBQ (v.0) - General Guidelines - Procedure for Renewing the Certificate of Production or Efficient Importation of Biofuels", related to RenovaBio. The publication presents the necessary procedures so that the primary issuers certified and qualified to request decarbonization credits (CBIOs) can renew the Certificate of Production or Efficient Importation of Biofuels.
The Report is available at:
Technical Report No. 05 / SBQ establishes the procedures to be followed by primary issuers and inspection companies for the renewal of the Certificate, as well as the procedures for mandatory annual monitoring of the Energy-Environmental Efficiency Note and the fraction of the volume of biofuel by the emitters primary.
ANP Resolution No. 758/2018 establishes that the Certificate of Efficient Production of Biofuels is valid for three years, counting from the date of its approval by the ANP. Exceptionally, the validity is only one year, when the biofuel production unit has operated for less than a year in the first certification process.
The producer or importer of biofuels may at any time request a new Biofuel Certification. At the end of the validity period of the Certificate of Efficient Production of Biofuels, there is no automatic or facilitated renewal. The unit must initiate a process for obtaining a new Certificate well in advance, to avoid gaps between validity dates.
