The Special Bidding Commission (CEL) concluded on Monday (2/10) the analysis of requests from companies that expressed interest and requested qualification in the 2nd and 3rd Pre-Salt Round, which will be held on October 27. Ten companies are qualified for the 2nd Round of the Pre-Salt and for the 3rd, 14th. There was a withdrawal for the 2nd Round of the Pre-salt and one for the 3rd.

 

Of those approved, 11 are of foreign origin and only one, Petronas, does not yet have a contract for exploration and production of oil and natural gas in Brazil.

Qualified companies have complied with all the requirements set forth in the notice and are eligible to participate in the round. The qualification is mandatory and individual for each interested party, even for those who wish to submit an offer through a consortium.

 

Once the requirements set forth in the bidding document have been approved and approved by the Special Bidding Commission, the company may submit bids only for the blocks located in the sectors for which it has paid the participation fee and provided a bid guarantee.

 

The 2nd Round of the Pre-salt will offer four areas with unitizable deposits, that is, adjacent to fields or prospects whose reservoirs extend beyond the granted area. The areas are related to the discoveries denominated by Cat of Mato and Carcará, and to the fields of Green Turtle and Sapinhoá.

 

The 3rd Round will offer four areas located in the Campos and Santos basins, in the region of the pre-salt polygon, regarding the prospects of Pau Brasil, Peroba, Alto de Cabo Frio-Oeste and Alto de Cabo Frio-Central.
