The chairman of the Board of Directors of Cosan Rubens Ometto Silveira Mello was honored this Monday, 9/21, with the title of Citizen Paulistano in a solemn session at the São Paulo City Council.
The title seeks to recognize the contribution of people born in other cities, but who develop significant works and actions for the city of São Paulo. Born in Piracicaba (SP), Rubens Ometto has a degree in Mechanical Production Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and is considered one of the main executives in the country.
The tribute was proposed by councilor George Hato (PMDB). In addition to family members and CEOs of Cosan businesses, São Paulo State Governor João Doria and São Paulo Mayor Eduardo Tuma were also present.
Governor João Doria praised the executive's professional career. “He is a winner for everything he can achieve by working in a fair and transparent manner. And always had generosity as a brand. In this pandemic, Rubens, through the Cosan Group, has already contributed over R $ 100 million to help those most in need, ”said the governor.
“I am very honored with this honor. I am a partner of São Paulo and Brazil. We want to increasingly contribute to the development of the country's infrastructure, through the energy and logistics sectors, and we have a lot to grow. The private sector can bring relevant investments to these sectors ”, said Rubens Ometto Silveira Mello in a speech of thanks.
