This Wednesday (8/18), the president of Petrobras, Joaquim Silva e Luna, and the director of Exploration and Production at the company, Fernando Borges, participated in the breakfast organized by the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce (Bratecc), a traditional event that takes place in parallel with the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), in Houston (USA). This year's theme was "Navigating The New Decade of Brazil O&G: An Ocean of Opportunities From Onshore to Offshore, Transfer of Rights and More" and the main speaker was the director general of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) , Rodolfo Saboia.

At the event, President Silva e Luna praised Petrobras' vocation to innovate and overcome limits and recalled the company's history of achievements, which for the fourth time granted it the Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, granted by OTC, for technologies adopted in the field of Búzios. "In about a decade, with our technological capacity, Petrobras has transformed the pre-salt into one of the most valuable areas in oil production in the world", said Silva e Luna, also recalling that the vocation for innovation and to overcome the challenges of Petrobras made the Búzios field possible, combining efficiency, safety and reduction of carbon emissions.

Asked by the audience, made up mostly of representatives of companies and institutions in the world oil and gas sector, Fernando Borges commented on Petrobras' commitment to producing oil and gas at competitive costs and efficiently in reducing carbon emissions. “We are incorporating the most advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reduce exploratory risk, production start-up time, enable the production of new areas and reduce carbon emissions”, emphasized Borges.

Bratecc's breakfast was also attended by representatives from Apex-Brasil, ANP, ExxonMobil, PPSA, Total Energies and Chevron, among others.

The experiences shared at Bratecc's breakfast and Petrobras' significant investments of US$ 2.4 billion in the 2nd quarter of 2021 demonstrate the company's consistent trajectory of financial sustainability and value creation. The focus on assets with high rates of return and portfolio management makes Petrobras increasingly stronger to invest better, supply an increasingly demanding market and generate prosperity for society.
