Exploration and production (E&P) professionals will share their expertise regarding water management operations at the Society of Petroleum’s (SPE) inaugural Water Management for Oil and Gas: Best Practices and New Technologies Workshop, 3-4 September in Lima, Peru at the Swissôtel Lima.

Led by Latin American industry specialists, eight technical sessions have been created to discuss novel technologies, water prevention methods, and effective strategies in produced water management for oil and gas projects. Topics include water reuse and recycle, minimization and disposal, and produced water treatment.

Keynote speakers will be Carlos Baluarte, director of the Environmental Energy Office of the Ministry of Energy, and Barbara Bruce, president of Hunt Oil Company of Peru. Topics discussed will be an overview of the current industry environment, water minimization, new technologies, and innovative techniques for water management, as well as best practices, and subsurface and surface integrity management.

“This SPE Applied Technology Workshop is a unique opportunity for E&P professionals, scientists, academic, government, and technology providers to discuss recent developments and strategies in produced water management,” says Bruce. “This interactive format offers an ideal knowledge-sharing opportunity to find beneficial solutions.”

In addition to the solid technical program, delegates will benefit from the networking opportunity with industry colleagues and key-decision makers. There will be simultaneous translation, in English and Spanish available at all sessions.

SPE Workshops are topic-specific, focused events smaller in scope than conferences, centered on brief technical presentations followed by extended Q&A periods. Workshops attract an informed audience eager to advance technology and best practices. To ensure an honest and collaborative discussion, attendance is limited and there is no press availability.
