Supergasbras earns Gold Seal in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program and is recognized for best practices in emissions reduction

Supergasbras – a company of the SHV Energy group – has earned, for the first time, the Gold Seal in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program (PBGHG), 2025 Cycle. This initiative by Fundação Getulio Vargas brings together companies for the voluntary reporting of their greenhouse gas emissions. The GHG Protocol is an important tool used worldwide to quantify and manage CO₂ emissions, enabling organizations to identify and develop effective strategies to reduce environmental impacts and contribute to addressing the global climate challenge. In Brazil, the program has been implemented since 2008 by FGV.

“The Gold Seal reflects the seriousness with which we address the management of our emissions and positions us at a high level of maturity and transparency in the market. Receiving the Gold Seal recognition encourages us to continue innovating in solutions that help decarbonize our operations and support the sustainable journey of our partners,” says Priscila Mazieiro (pictured), Sustainability Manager at Supergasbras.

In its published inventory, Supergasbras highlighted several initiatives, such as: fueling 99% of its light vehicle fleet with ethanol, avoiding around 1,400 tons of CO₂ emissions per year; the Sustainable Fleet Project in LPG distribution, with biomethane-powered trucks that reduce emissions by up to 30%, and electric trucks with zero CO₂ emissions; and the development of BioGL (renewable LPG), designed to reduce the product’s carbon footprint and support customers in transitioning to cleaner energy solutions.

With these advances, the company reaffirmed its commitment to leading initiatives that combine energy efficiency, innovation, and environmental responsibility, aligning itself with global best practices in sustainability.
