T&B Petroleum/Press Office ANP
The ANP, in partnership with the Brazilian Geological Service (CPRM), is launching today (12/5) a website to make free the public digital technical data of terrestrial sedimentary basins available. The objective is to promote the expansion of geological knowledge about these basins and to encourage investments in exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the areas already under concession and in those that will be offered in future bidding rounds. The website can be accessed at https://reate.cprm.gov.br/anp/.
The website navigation was developed to ensure simplicity and objectivity in the search for information. It is organized by terrestrial sedimentary basins, in a total of 23, and has digital data from wells, 2D and 3D seismic data post-stack, non-seismic data, geochemical data and various studies. The 23 data packages contain information referring to 22,641 wells, 329 2D seismic surveys, 204 3D seismic surveys, 217 non-seismic surveys (gravimetry, magnetometry, magnetoteluria and gamma-spectrometry), 38 geochemical surveys, and 17 studies in the technical data collection of the ANP Exploration and Production Database (BDEP). Pre-stack seismic data is not included in this free provision. Pre-stack data is field seismic data, raw data without any treatment, while post-stack data is seismic data that undergoes some processing.
For the publication of the website, more than 14 thousand data from wells were recovered, which were organized, along with the other data, by terrestrial basins. This way, it will be easier and faster for the user to find a specific unit of information. The website will be updated whenever new data is made public, so it is recommended to fill out the existing registration on the website to notify you of package updates later.
The website has a volume of information close to 2.5 terabytes, thus marking the largest project for making data available from the BDEP, which will turn 21 on the next 29/5. The data is embedded in the CPRM infrastructure in Brasília and its data can be downloaded by any interested party. Universities and research centers will have high-speed access through the National Teaching and Research Network (RNP).
The website will be presented during an event of the Brazil Oil and Gas Circuit, when the first free technical data will also be delivered, available to interested parties from 3/5 (learn more: https://www.gov.br/anp/pt-br/canais_atendimento/imprensa/noticias-comunicados/anp-disponibiliza-gratuitamente-a-partir-de-hoje-3-5-dados-publicos-sobre-bacias-terrestres-brasileiras).
The event may be followed, starting at 4 pm, in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyLgA6BJnic.
