After attending meetings with Chinese officials, Michel Temer spoke to the press about the economic results of the second quarter of the year (the Brazilian economy grew 0.2% in Q2 YoY). The president considered that the numbers show that Brazil is growing and recovering.

Temer also said that he and the members of the Brazilian delegation were impressed by China's interest in Brazil. "The meetings we had with the Prime Minister and the President of China demonstrated the extraordinary importance that China accords to our country," he said, adding that “the various comments made at these meetings were about the [economic] reaction that Brazil is experiencing".

Earlier, Temer and the President of the People's Republic of China, XI Jinping, attended the signing ceremony of 14 international acts this Friday (1). The list includes both bilateral acts between the two governments and private sector agreements, which should generate business and investments in Brazil.

New Investments

In addition to presenting data on the economic improvements seen in Brazil, President Michel Temer also explained the reforms the country has implemented and showed the new portfolio of projects of the Investment Partnership Programme (PPI), many of which are likely to garner interest from Chinese investors.
