The ANP's 14th Round of Bids will offer ten blocks in the Campos Basin, six of which are located totally or partially along the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

The Campos Basin is the main producer of oil and natural gas in the country. The blocks on offer located totally or partially on the coast of Rio de Janeiro have potential for discoveries in the pre-salt, although they are areas offered under a concession regime and outside the polygon established by Law 12,351 / 2010. The minimum subscription bonuses of the blocks on offer in the Campos basin located on the coast of the state range from R$ 5.34 million to R$ 25.12 million.

The State of Rio de Janeiro is currently the largest producer of oil and gas in Brazil. In July 2017, the state produced 1.8 million barrels of oil per day, equivalent to 71% of national production, and 52.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, which corresponds to 46% of Brazilian production. The State of Rio de Janeiro has 42 producing fields, distributed in the Campos and Santos basins.

In all, in the 14th Bidding Round, 287 blocks will be offered in 29 sectors of nine sedimentary basins, totaling an area of 122,615.71 Km2. The 14th Round aims to expand reserves and Brazilian oil and natural gas production, increase knowledge of sedimentary basins, decentralize exploration investment in the country, develop the small oil industry and set up national and foreign companies in the country, demand for local goods and services, the generation of jobs and the distribution of income. The Certame was authorized by CNPE Resolution 06/2017, of April 11, 2017 and published in the Official Gazette of the Union on 04/20/2017.

In addition to Round 14, Pre-salt rounds 2 and 3 are scheduled to take place in October this year, also with offers from areas on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. By 2019 nine rounds of bids are planned in total, under concession or production sharing regimes. The forecast of investments in the state with the nine rounds scheduled until 2019 is U $ 30 billion over the duration of the contracts, 35 years. Already the collection with royalties in this same period should add $ 8 billion and $ 400 million with special participations.
