The Minister of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications, Gilberto Kassab, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina, Lino Barañao, participate in this Thursday (3) of the Bilateral Brazil-Argentina Executive Committee on Science, Technology and inovation. The event will be held from 9am at the headquarters of CNPq, in Brasilia. 

At

midday, a memorandum of understanding will be signed for cooperation in innovation between Finep and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina (MINCyT) involving large research infrastructures and innovative companies in the areas of ICT, biotechnology and nanotechnology. 

In addition, the relaunch of the Brazilian Nanotechnology Center (CBAN) will be discussed; Initiatives within the framework of the Brazilian-Argentine Biotechnology Center (Cabbio); Cooperation mechanisms in bioeconomics, oceanography and desertification, biodiversity and sustainable development; And the exchange of researchers through a partnership between the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (Conicet), CNPq and Capes. 

Created in 2016, the Brazil-Argentina Bilateral Executive Committee aims to identify areas of mutual interest and coordinate the implementation of joint projects. Brazil and Argentina signed in 1980 the first Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, which was updated in 2001 by the Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
