As an oil and gas company, at Oil States, we are used on managing the risks inherent in our business. But, to face a global pandemic was certainly not in our plans and not in our risk mapping. The pandemic presents itself as a new element in our daily lives. A new reality that is leading us to review the concepts of risk management and that is also motivating us to rethink our role as Organization, Management and Individual.

Covid-19, introduces a new perspective on behavior in the face of external risks added to our business. It is certainly unknown, but extremely stressful and dynamic. We were taken out of any known Comfort Zone. Routines have been completely undone. However, our commitment to the safety of employees and partners, with the quality of our products and services remains unchanged within this new scenario. This scenario leads us to balance and manage so many things at the same time.

We immediately instituted the Contingency Plan, respecting our particularities: we map the employees of the risk group and responsibly send them to their homes. We organized our administrative team so they could do home office, redistributed our operational work shifts, trained everyone on good personal hygiene practices, provided transportation so that no one was exposed in agglomerations, and periodically monitor everyone's health, which includes pre-shipment quarantines and testing of our team.

In practice, we do not implement very disconnected actions from other organizations. What makes us successful in the midst of this great health and economic crisis is that we strengthen our decisions as a team. We decided that it was not a Crisis Committee that we needed, but a Management Committee! Management because we understand that all we need to do at this stage is to manage processes, resources and people even better. Manage in an even more integrated, attuned and coordinated manner, keeping us faithful to our main objective, which is to maintain the health and integrity of all, with social and human responsibility.

With our #somosoilstates spirit, we decided to go through this phase together. We decided to look at the best we can learn and improve as an Organization, especially in our human relationships, as we understand that our greatest value is in each one of us.
