Developers of three wind farms in Brazil received approval to issue bonds to support the projects.

The country’s Energy Ministry authorized the financing for the 29.7-megawatt Ventos de Santa Brigida VII wind project in Pernambuco state and the 49-megawatt Ventos de Santo Augusto I and II projects in Piaui state, according to the official gazette today.

The government authorized Brazilian ethanol makers last week to sell tax-free bonds in an effort to make the industry more attractive to investors.

Press officials for Ventos de Santa Brigida SA and Ventos de Santo Augusto AS couldn’t be reached.
