Total oil production under the production-sharing regime, involving the Union and the consortia, hit a record, reaching 1.57 million barrels per day (bpd) in March. The 7% increase over the prior period was due to the startup of the third production well at Bacalhau and the operational return of the P-70 unit, at Atapu, and the P-76 unit, at Búzios, after scheduled maintenance shutdowns. The largest producer was Búzios, with 654.89 thousand bpd, followed by Mero, with 633.67 thousand bpd. The previous production peak was in October 2025, when it reached 1.54 million barrels per day.

The data is part of the Monthly Production Bulletin, released this Tuesday (19) by PPSA (Pré-Sal Petróleo).

The Union's share of oil reached 184 thousand bpd in March, considering production-sharing contracts (PSCs) and individualization of production agreements (IPAs), a result 1% higher than in February.

Under production-sharing contracts, the Union's share of oil was 164 thousand bpd, with Mero standing out, accounting for 78% of production, with 128.08 thousand bpd.

Since the start of the historical series in 2017, accumulated production under the production-sharing regime totals 1.66 billion barrels, with 127.71 million barrels allocated to the Union.

Natural gas exports

The Union's exported natural gas share was 244 thousand m³/day across five production-sharing contracts and the Tupi and Jubarte IPAs.

In natural gas, the monthly result for the Union's share under PSCs reached 150 thousand m³ per day, a 25% increase over February. This was due to the return of operations at the P-76 unit, in Búzios, and despite a 21% reduction in exports from Espadim, due to the start of a scheduled production shutdown.
