The Union's oil share was 244 thousand bpd in May, the highest production volume recorded since the beginning of the historical series in 2017. This result considers the Union's production from nine production-sharing contracts (PSCs) and four unitization agreements (AIPs), and is approximately 30% higher than that obtained in April.

Of this total, 226 thousand bpd were produced under the production-sharing regime, a volume 31% above that recorded in April, due to the increase in the Union's share in Mero, North of Carcará, and Sépia. The data are from the Monthly Production Bulletin released this Thursday (16) by PPSA (Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A.).

The Monthly Bulletin also highlights the production of 19 thousand bpd from the Union in the AIPs in May, a result 23% higher than the previous period. The Mero AIP was responsible for 88% of the Union's share, producing 16 thousand bpd.

Natural gas exports

The average total volume of natural gas available for export from the Union under the production-sharing regime was 332 thousand m³ per day in May. The result was 176% higher than the previous period, due to higher exports and the Union's share for Sépia and higher exports from Espadim, following the return from scheduled maintenance. The Sépia field accounted for 65% of the Union's share in May.

Natural gas exports under the production-sharing regime involving the Union and the consortia totaled 6.466 million m³ per day. The result was 16% higher than the previous month, due to the return from scheduled production maintenance of the FPSO at Espadim and the operational return of exports at Sépia.

In the AIPs, natural gas exports in May were 172 thousand m³ per day, 19% lower than the previous period, due to scheduled production maintenance of the P-67 at Tupi.
