Wilson Sons Tugs received on Wednesday (19) the tug WS Phoenix, built by Wilson Sons Shipyard in Guaruja. This is the first vessel in a series of 12, with total investment of $ 140.7 million. 
"The entry into operation of the WS Phoenix is cause for much celebration for the company, since it is the first of a new cycle with funding from the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM). These new vessels follow the fleet renewal plan, increasing our ability to service the port and special operations, "says Chief Operating Officer of Tugs Wilson Sons, Sergio Guedes.
The new tug is from 2411 and features 72 tons bollard pull (bollard pull). It is equipped with fire fighting (Fire Fighting 1) Caterpillar engine and thrusters Schottel system. By the end of 2014, four other vessels with similar specifications will be operating. 
Following the tradition of Wilson Sons, the name of the tug refers to stars and planets of the universe. The acronym refers to the owner WS and Phoenix, the bird of Greek mythology who was reborn after death, is a constellation of the southern celestial hemisphere.
