The National Electric System Operator (ONS) registered, on Saturday, November 28, a record for wind generation in the Northeast. The energy produced by the good wind performance reached 9,163 average MW. This amount is sufficient to supply 86.8% of the electric demand in all states that make up the region.
The last record for average generation in the Northeast is August 7, when 9,098 average MW were produced. Wind energy has been monitored by ONS since 2006 and today represents 9.5% of the entire Brazilian electrical matrix.
