ExxonMobil Extends Contracts with Jasa Merin for 2 AHTS Vessels in Malaysia

The contracts extension are valued at $6.97 million.

Silk Holdings Bhd (Silk) revealed Friday that its subsidiary, Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, had accepted contracts extension by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. for the provision of two 60 metric ton Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) Vessels, the firm said in an announcement on local stock exchange Bursa Malaysia.
The contracts extension, which will commence Feb. 2 and Feb. 5 respectively, are for one year and are valued at approximately $6.97 million (MYR 23.287 million).
Jasa Merin, a company focused on the supply of offshore support vessels services to the petroleum industry, was awarded 18-month contracts, worth $10.96 million (MYR 35 million), by ExxonMobil in July 2012 for the provision of 2 AHTS vessels, with option to extend the deal for a further 12 months.
