Huawei and Brazilian private university PUCRS announced a new phase of cooperation in R&D with the implementation of the Smart City Innovation Center. Located in Porto Alegre, the centre will have as its main objective the research and development of solutions focused on smart cities and the Internet of Things, as well as serve as a framework for testing and proofs of concept. The areas of health and education are also contemplated within the centre's projects. The physical structure of the Smart City Innovation Center will be installed at the Science and Technology Park of PUCRS and is scheduled to open in H1 2016.
