Executives and representatives of the leading pipeline companies in the country gathered on Monday (Aug 24), at the headquarters of the Brazilian Institute of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (IBP), in Rio de Janeiro, to present the Rio Pipeline 2015. The organizing committee spoke about the main news of this year, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Conference. The pavilion of "Invention for Innovation" and the Market and Career Workshop are some of them. The Rio Pipeline 2015 takes place 22-24 September at the SulAmérica Convention Center.

During the presentation, the IBP's Executive Manager for Supply, Petrochemical and Biofuels , Ernani Filgueiras, spoke about the importance of the event for the sector and the choice of the theme of this year: the important role of submarine pipelines in the development of pre-salt. "The Brazilian discoveries are among the most important worldwide. The pre-salt is presented as an excellent opportunity for development of the entire production chain, in particular segment of subsea pipelines, which will require new technologies and solutions for expansion of the network" he said.

The Rio Pipeline will have an integrated program consisting of five plenary sessions, nine boards, five short courses, two special sessions - one on integrity of gas distribution pipelines and one on Petrobras technologies for the segment, awarded at OTC Houston 2015 - in addition to the exhibition and side events. There are 66 speakers and nearly 200 technical papers to be presented. At the fair, 70 companies are confirmed. Engie, Rosen, TDWilliamson, Tenaris, TBG, Petrobras and Smarttech sponsoring this year's edition are some of them. The event receives an average of 2,000 visitors and approximately 1000 speakers from 20 different countries.

Among the novelties this year is the pavilion of "Invention for Innovation". In this space, 14 technology-based companies will present interesting solutions to the pipeline sector. In addition, there will be the Market and Career Workshop for professionals who are looking for an opportunity. Lectures on entrepreneurship and career are on schedule. The programm "Profissional do Futuro", aimed at young students, will also be held during the event. It is expected that 300 students from Rio's universities participate in the activities.
