Brazil's state-run oil firm Petrobras reported new discoveries at two ultra-deepwater fields.

Hydrocarbons were found in the SEAL-M-424 block off the coast of Sergipe state and in the BM-S-24 block off Rio de Janeiro, according to data compiled by local sector regulator ANP.

The SEAL-M-424 accumulation was discovered during drilling of the 3BRSA1244SES well at a depth of 2,772m. Petrobras holds a 100% interest in the block in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin.

The BM-S-24 cluster was identified during an appraisal of the 3BRSA1246RJS well at a depth of 2,183m. Petrobras holds an 80% stake in the Santos basin block with the balance held by Petrogal Brasil.

Petrobras has now made 30 onshore and offshore discoveries in Brazil this year, according to ANP records.
