Solar energy is the source of greater abundance available for electricity generation in Brazil. Business initiatives that are enhancing the preservation of the environment deliver surprising numbers in reducing pollutants.

Since 2012, when residents and entrepreneurs were allowed to produce their own electricity, the impact went far beyond the pockets of Brazilians who felt the 95% reduction in the monthly value of the energy bill.

The amount of pollutants that have been prevented from being produced and disposed of in the environment is still equivalent to several football fields, tons of coal and thousands of cars driven without gas emission into the atmosphere.

Check 3 Solar Energy projects from Brazilian initiatives and the numbers they represent!

30 Years of Solar Energy X 65 Tons of Coal

Even with a small scale initiative, the result in environmental conservation using solar energy is very relevant.

Representing an economy of more than 3,000 Reais in the electricity bill, the Clinical Hospital of the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (HC-UFTM) recently inaugurated its pilot project of installation of photovoltaic panels.

Of course the impact goes far beyond the balance of the energy bill.

With only 15 license plates installed to convert the sun's rays into electricity, the hospital will produce clean energy for 30 years equivalent to the burning of 65 tons of coal (thermoelectric) or, if you prefer, 500,000 km in a gasoline-powered car.

Complex of Solar Power Plants X 400 Thousand Cars

Another great company that presented initiatives focused on sustainability is Claro Brasil.

The forecast was to reduce the emission of more than 100,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to the removal of more than 400,000 cars from the streets.

The Claro Energy program aims to cover 80% of what the company uses in its operations throughout Brazil, more than 600,000 MWh / year.

The complex occupies an area of 45 hectares and will generate energy equivalent to the consumption of a city of 250 thousand inhabitants.

By 2018, another 20 solar parks, four wind farms, six biogas plants and three qualified cogeneration plants were planned to be inaugurated.

450 MW of Solar Energy By Year X 200 popular houses

Algar Tech, a Brazilian multinational, has two energy efficiency projects with photovoltaic modules.

The sunlight is captured by means of 1,224 245Wp photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the company's main building in Uberlândia.

They occupy 3,300 m², being able to generate 450 MWh per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of at least 200 popular houses.

Another project is installed in Campinas, with 650 photovoltaic panels annually reducing by 547 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

This was only a small demonstration, the Solar Energy scenario in Brazil only tends to grow and improve.

The electricity distribution market is in a crisis of supply and supply, with constant increases in tariffs for consumers.

This means that more and more residents and entrepreneurs have been awakened to the intelligent use of renewable energy.
