Brazilian oil and gas sector will require US$500 billion over 10 years

Brazil will get by 2020, US$ 500 billion of investment in goods and services to the oil sector, with most of the sea. The estimate was given by the director general of Brazilian Agency for Oil and Gas (ANP), Magda Chambriard, during the award ceremony of the 3rd Naval Award for Quality and Sustainability Acurcio Rodrigues de Oliveira, on Monday (9), in Rio.
"It's not random, it is government policy. We want to retain more than half of that money in Brazil and much could accrue to shipyards with orders and services", he said.
According to the director of the ANP, more than half of these orders will be taken to the domestic industry: "The local content policy adopted in Brazil allowed the South to the Northeast yards are loaded with orders", he added. 
On the occasion, the chairman of the Congressional Maritime Industry, Edson Santos, revealed that, in addition to orders for the oil , the country must allow its merchant marine. "The deficit border freight US$ 20 billion per year and President Rousseff intends to act to prevent this loss", he said.
