The Energy Industries Council (EIC), the leading trade association for UK companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Broadley as its new CEO. Stuart brings over 20 years of global energy services experience to his new role, joining the EIC most recently from Hoerbiger. Based in Vienna for the past three years, Stuart was Global Head of Service for their Compression Technology Division.

Prior to his position at Hoerbiger, Stuart spent four years in the renewables sector in Hamburg, as President of Global Service for onshore and offshore wind turbine manufacturer REpower Systems (now Senvion). Stuart also spent 13 years at multinational energy services company Wood Group in Aberdeen and Canada, and was responsible for a number of their gas turbine service businesses.

Commenting on his new position Stuart said, “I’m extremely excited to be taking over the reins from Claire Miller, who has done a great deal to develop the EIC during her time as CEO. The organisation has both a clear strategy and a strong senior management team in place, so I look forward to building on this success.”

Stuart’s first event as CEO was EIC Connect Middle East, the EIC’s supply chain exhibition and conference, which took place in Abu Dhabi on 17 May 2016. Reflecting on EIC Connect Middle East Stuart said, “As well as being an ideal occasion to meet with some of our member companies, the event was without doubt a great success and indicative of what we do so well at the EIC: bringing members of the UK supply chain together to do business with key decision makers from major operators such as Shell, BP, Amec Foster Wheeler, and ADNOC.”

On the new appointment, EIC Chairman Paul Mitchell said, “Stuart’s wealth of energy experience and successful track record in service excellence give him the ideal skillset to lead the EIC and to support our members. We’re delighted to have him on board.”
