T&B Petroleum/Press Release
In August, SCGÁS connected the 300th industry to its distribution network in Santa Catarina. The milestone was achieved with the beginning of the supply of natural gas to Bovenau, an industry in the automotive segment located in Laurentino, in the Alto Vale do Itajaí.
Combined with the expansion of supply and the historic competitive tariff practiced by SCGÁS, the diversified economy of Santa Catarina contributes to the growth of this market, considering that the versatility of natural gas allows its use in the most diverse productive segments. In the last eight years, the Company has increased the number of industrial customers by 40% and with the execution of its largest package of works, started this year, by 2024 it should exceed 400 industrial customers.
After two decades of the first industry served by SCGÁS, Döhler de Joinville, Santa Catarina is consolidated as one of the states in the country with the largest number of consumers in this segment. Major brands from Santa Catarina are supplied by the Company, representing, according to Fiesc data, more than 50% of Santa Catarina's industrial GDP.
“In this challenging moment imposed by the pandemic, SCGÁS renews its commitment to Santa Catarina. As a public concessionaire, we have the responsibility to internalize the supply of natural gas to promote socioeconomic development. This achievement motivates us even more to pursue the ambitious goals established for the coming years in our business plan ”, says SCGÁS president, Willian Anderson Lehmkuhl.
