Noble and Danos receive NOIA safety awards

Awards were presented at the NOIA Annual Meeting in Washington.

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) has named Noble Corp. (NYSE: NE) as the recipient of NOIA’s 2014 Safety-in-Seas (SIS) Safety Practice Award, and Danos as the recipient of its 2014 SIS Culture of Safety Award. The awards were presented at the NOIA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
Award nominations were selected by a panel of judges from the US Coast Guard, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, the National Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board, and an independent industry safety consultant.
Noble was recognized for its innovative safety leadership in offshore drilling and its commitment to employee training and development. The judges noted Noble’s continued outstanding safety and environmental performance while hiring hundreds of new employees, along with the company’s enhanced crew development and knowledge management practices supporting stringent safety standards in its operations throughout the world.
Danos won the Culture of Safety Award for its commitment to safety throughout the organization. With its diverse services, Danos adapts and partners with peers to solve industry challenges. Producing innovative safety programs, promoting a high performance culture, and focusing on employee development have been crucial elements in building the company’s culture of safety.
