The Department of Economic Development, Energy, Industry and Services of the Rio de Janeiro State (Sedeis) and Agency for Development and Investment Promotion of the Rio Grande do Sul State (AGDI), signed on the morning of Wednesday (7) in Houston a cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Texas (Bratecc), during the event the association.


The Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, represented by Sedeis also signed with Bratecc a memorandum of technical cooperation for development of business between Rio and Texas. The agreement is focused on subsea sector, for the cluster of Rio de Janeiro. The subsea cluster Rio de Janeiro already has signed agreements with the Irish Government and Norwegian.


"This agreement with Bratecc will identify and mobilize local American businesses with the technical background that we need to take partnerships or investments to Rio de Janeiro. We will develop joint work on developing suppliers in the supply of oil, gas and subsea chain", explains the state secretary of Energy, Logistics and Industrial Development, Marcelo Vertis.On the same occasion, the AGDI signed a memorandum of understanding with the camera to maximize efforts to stimulate and implement joint and coordinated actions of business development in the supply of equipment and services chain."This agreement with Bratecc will identify and mobilize local American businesses with the technical background that we need to take partnerships or investments to Rio de Janeiro. "We need to give visibility to Rio Grande do Sul and Bratecc has a great influence in Houston . We have an excellent park and optimal conditions for manufacturing we set up a supply chain for oil and gas in the State. Want to attract them to settle in the region or do business with local companies",said Aloísio Nóbrega, vice president of AGDI.


The state accounts for about 120 companies in the oil and gas supply chain. The region is concentrated in the maritime sector and has a project portfolio of approximately R$ 9 billion in shipyards. In Rio Grande, has three shipyards and AGDI want to attract more room, but focused on ship repair.
