A first-of-its-kind study conducted in partnership between the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP) and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) shows that ROG.e 2026 will stimulate Rio de Janeiro’s economy. The world’s largest energy festival, organized by IBP, is estimated to generate approximately R$ 593 million in economic activity across the state and contribute around R$ 35 million in net tax revenues, considering the event’s direct, indirect, and induced impacts throughout 2026, including its preparation, staging, and post-event phases.

The study also identifies other benefits, including the creation of more than 10,000 jobs. Visitor spending is expected to reach R$ 95 million, comprising R$ 63 million on accommodation, R$ 25 million on food and beverages, and R$ 7 million on transportation.

Scheduled to take place from September 21 to 24 at Riocentro, ROG.e 2026 will occupy a total area of 117,000 square meters and is expected to attract 75,000 participants. The event will feature more than 650 exhibitors and 22,000 square meters of exhibition space.

This edition will also include 46 official sponsors, 57 sponsors of parallel events, and 13 international pavilions, consolidating the event’s position as one of the leading global platforms for business, innovation, and relationship-building in the energy sector.

With a new concept, ROG.e 2026 is becoming the world’s largest energy festival, bringing together discussions on energy security, the energy transition and decarbonization, low-carbon technologies, innovation, markets, investment, regulation, biofuels, and cultural experiences.

For IBP, the figures reinforce not only the event’s strategic relevance to the industry but also its ability to generate jobs, income, tax revenues, and economic activity for Rio de Janeiro.

“ROG.e 2026 reinforces IBP’s strategy of leading a cross-cutting, integrated energy agenda connected to global demands. The event goes beyond the traditional conference format by combining a technical congress, entertainment, and networking, positioning itself as the leading forum for discussing the energy transition and the sector’s investment outlook,” says Victor Montenegro (pictured), IBP’s interim Executive Director of Corporate Affairs.

To ensure the convenience of attendees, the event will offer free transportation on executive buses, with scheduled departure times connecting Rio’s downtown area, the South Zone, and Barra da Tijuca to the event venue.

Parallel Events

In addition to the main congress, ROG.e will host 13 parallel events aimed at specific audiences.

Among the attractions is Bar do Simas: History, Music and Energy in Rio, hosted by writer and historian Luiz Antonio Simas, one of Brazil’s leading scholars of popular culture. The event will take place at the Literary Energy Arena, a new feature of this edition.

Writer Itamar Vieira Jr. has also confirmed his participation in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum (DE&I).

ROG.e Fest

The 2026 edition will expand its program of experiences for participants in an unprecedented way. In addition to networking areas, brand activations, a Ferris wheel, and a literary space, the event will feature ROG.e Fest, with performances by artists such as Xande de Pilares, Toni Garrido, Elba Ramalho, and Monobloco.

The program will also include performances by the Maré do Amanhã, Petrobras, and Chiquinha Gonzaga orchestras.

The musical program will begin daily at 5:30 p.m. with DJ sets, followed by orchestra performances and shows by invited artists starting at 7:20 p.m.
