Eagle Paulínia, the second of four new ships that are being added to Petrobras' fleet of relievers in 2020, carried out the first relief operations in Búzios, in the Santos Basin, and concluded its first operational cycle. In the last week of August, the vessel carried out two offloadings - oil transfer - from the P-74 and P-76 platforms, and transhipped the oil cargo to another exporting vessel in Angra dos Reis.

“The new vessels are essential to meet the great production potential of Petrobras, as well as the demand for export of the oil produced by the company. They represent a major leap in productivity in offloading operations, in line with our strategy of generating more value from our assets. With this strategy, we have obtained relevant results in the operation, with successive records of oil production in the Búzios field, for example; and in commercialization, with significant export volumes of oil and a record 1 million barrels per day exported in April ”, highlights André Chiarini, director of Commercialization & Logistics at Petrobras.

Like Eagle Petrolina, which has been operating since July in the Logistics relieving fleet, the new vessel has a transport and storage capacity of 1 million barrels. Custom-designed and built in South Korea, the Suezmax class vessel is equipped with a Dynamic Positioning (DP2) system, with high-powered thrusters and a dynamic positioning system. This mechanism allows the vessel to be stabilized automatically, ensuring safety and increasing the efficiency of the oil relief operation. The vessel is also equipped with electrically driven cargo pumps to increase the use of fuel and reduce costs.

The third vessel is in South Korea carrying out tests and is expected to arrive in Brazil in October. The fourth is scheduled for delivery in Singapore in November, and arrival in Brazil in December. The new vessels will integrate the company's current fleet of 21 DP vessels, which carry out about 1,800 offloadings per year. In addition to these relievers, Petrobras contracted, at the beginning of the year, three more tankers, with delivery scheduled for 2022.
