The three contracts under production in a sharing regime (Mero Development Area, Surroundings of Sapinhoá and Southwest Tartaruga Verde) produced 29,000 barrels per day (bpd) in July 2020, a result 37% lower than that recorded in June. The retraction reflects Mero's 20-day scheduled stoppage to execute the pull-out operation of the 8-inch line, which made the area's production stand at 10,000 bpd in July, against 26,000 bpd in June. The data are part of the Monthly Bulletin of Production Sharing Contracts prepared by Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) released this Friday (11).

The average daily share of Union oil in the three contracts was also lower than that recorded in June, but the drop was not in the same proportion, remaining at 20.6%. This is because the impact of the retraction on Mero production was mitigated by a 12.5% increase in the surplus in the Surrounding of Sapinhoá compared to the previous month - reflecting a lower cost recovery, which influenced the percentage of the Union on the production of July.

The Union had 6,900 bpd in July, of which 5,400 bpd in the Entorno de Sapinhoá Field, 1,500 bpd in the Mero Development Area and 42 bpd in the Southwest of Tartaruga Verde.

Since January 2017, the beginning of the historical series, the accumulated production of the three contracts is 41.5 million barrels of oil. Of this total, the Union was entitled to 6.7 million barrels.

Natural gas

In July 2020, the total average daily production (consortium and Union) was 263 thousand m³ / dianos, two contracts with commercial use of natural gas, 180 thousand m³ / day in the Surroundings of Sapinhoá and 83 thousand m³ / day in the Southwest of Green Turtle. The result shows an increase of 1.15% compared to June this year. At the time, production totaled 260 thousand m³ / day.

The daily installment of the Union in July 2020 was 117 thousand m³ / day, referring to the contracts of Entorno de Sapinhoá (116,475 m³ / d) and Southwest Tartaruga Verde (315 m³ / d), which reflects an increase of 20 , 6% in relation to the previous month, pulled by Entorno de Sapinhoá.

The natural gas produced in Mero, with a high CO2 content, is being injected into the reservoir for an effective increase in oil production. So far, there is no forecast of commercial use.
