The electronics industry opened 4,373 job vacancies in September, totaling 243,600 workers, according to Abinee data, based on information from Novo Caged. This was the fourth consecutive increase in the sector's employment level.

With the result, in addition to exceeding the levels recorded before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, which had reached 240,700 employees in February this year, the workforce employed in the sector reached the highest level since March 2016 (242 , 7 thousand).

According to the president of Abinee, Humberto Barbato, the companies managed not only to recover the losses recorded between the months of March and May, due to the pandemic, but also to add workforce to sustain the increase in demand that has been registered in recent months.

"Even in the midst of uncertainties, the employment numbers in the sector bring a high degree of optimism and indicate solidity in the ongoing recovery process", says Barbato.

Confidence

The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) of the Electrical and Electronic Sector, according to CNI data aggregated by Abinee, reached 59.9 points in October.

For the third consecutive month, the indicator remained above the 50-point dividing line, which shows that the industrial entrepreneur in the sector remains confident. The result was higher than that observed in October last year (57.9 points).
