Another 8 plants were certified yesterday (5) by ANP - National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels for the issue of CBios - Decarbonization Credits. With the new certifications, the number of units already accredited by the Agency rises to 149.

Among the units certified yesterday, Glencane - Rio Vermelho Unit and Bioenergética Aroeira, both UDOP members, stand out. The plants were also certified: Cambui; Forest; Lagoon; Uberaba; Camera; and Frutal.

With the certification, the units will be able to enter into agreements with Serpro - Federal Data Processing Service for the registration of invoices referring to the certified volumes and effectively start issuing their CBios.

Each CBio is equivalent to one ton less carbon to be emitted into the atmosphere. Also according to RenovaBio, fuel distributors have a mandatory target for the acquisition of CBios, determined each year, taking into account the amount of fossil fuels traded in the previous year.
