Brazil’s Electricity Demand to Soar by 2021

“Brazil must expand electricity production over the next decade”; according to a study by the state-run Energy Research Corporation. Electricity demand in 2021 will be higher than last year and Brazil will have to increase its electricity production over the next decade to keep pace. The 5th Rio Gas & Power Forum hosted by Petrobras and supported by ANP, Onip, Abraget, Abrace and Abrage will discuss Brazil’s ever-growing power demand amongst other related topics. The Forum will take place from the 8 – 11 April 2014 at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro.
Programme highlights will centre on the growing importance of LNG to Brazil and the rest of the Southern Cone; advantages and limitations of hydropower; the scope for integrating gas and power infrastructure; opportunities for investors to enter into Brazil’s power market; and strategies for meeting Brazil’s increasing demand for power.
The 5th Rio Gas and Power Forum will host a day of Master Classes focused on Brazil’s Gas Market, interactive debates, Guanabara Bay LNG Site Terminal Visit and exclusive networking opportunities including the annual Gala Dinner hosted by Petrobras, that will allow delegates to build new business relationships with senior executives from Petrobras.
Prestigious speakers of the Forum include Angelica Laureano, Executive Manager, Petrobras; André Pepitone, Managing Director, Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica; Augusto Salomon, Executive Director, Abegás; Artur Pereira, CEO, Angola LNG; Dorothea Werneck, Secretary of State of Economic Development, Minas Gerais; Luis Henrique Guimarães, Presidente, COMGÁS, Heloise Costa, Advisor, Agência Nacional do Petróleo (ANP).
