China’s  CIMC Raffles has secured an order from a Malaysian company Thaumas Marine Ltd, a Coastal Contracts Bhd subsidiary, to build one gas compression jack-up unit which is based on CIMC’s Taisun 200B design.
The jack-up is scheduled to be delivered in 2015 and will work for Pemex in Gulf of Mexico. The charter contract is for a period of eight years with an extension option up to twelve years.
The unit is supported by four cylindrical legs, with leg length 112 meters. It is capable to operate at water depth up to 55 meters, and capable to process gas up to 200 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The design temperature is from 0-45 degrees Celsius. The unit is classed by ABS.
The jack-up will have the ability to manage sour gas, for injection into the reservoir the high content of associated gas to oil, helping to maintain reservoir pressure and maximize the  exploitation of hydrocarbons. The sour gas compression plant will be unique in its kind, and will operate with a capacity of 200 mmcfd installed on the Jack-up which interconnect to Pemex’s offshore production facilities, located in the probe Campeche, providing the flexibility to relocate in different offshore facilities under Pemex’s operational strategies.
