Onerous Assignment
T&B Petroleum/Press Office MME
The National Pollen Energy Council (CNPE), meeting on February 28, took an important step towards the auction of surplus volumes of the onerous assignment, scheduled for October 28 of this year, defining the following guidelines for the auction:
Model of contracting by the Scheme of production sharing;
Areas to be auctioned: Atapu, Búzios, Itapu and Sepia;
The winner must pay Petrobras compensation for the investments made in the area and, as a counterpart, will acquire a portion of the assets and production;
Guidelines for calculating such compensation;
Necessity of conclusion of the Agreement between Petrobras and the winner of the Auction to discipline the unification of the operation;
Based on this CNPE Resolution, simulations will be made with different scenarios to define the signature bonus, minimum percentage of oil profit and compensation to Petrobras due by the winner of the auction, to be appraised at CNPE at the end of March of this year. At the same meeting, the Production Sharing Round of Excess Volumes will be authorized for the Onerous Assignment Contract by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels - ANP.
It is worth noting that this auction will represent a milestone in Brazilian energy policy due to the significant volumes of oil and natural gas in the field and very high productivity of the fields. It has aroused great interest from the world's leading oil companies and will bring great economic benefits, with employment and income generation.
The completion of this auction in 2019 is an extraordinary window of opportunity, which can not be missed.
